Prepaid Metering – TID Rollover

Please Note

We would like to inform you that STss is fully aware of the TID Rollover process and is actively working towards upgrading our token system from STS 1 to STS 2. The deadline for this upgrade is set for 24 November 2024.

For your information, the TID (Token Identifier) is a critical component used to determine whether a token has already been used in a payment meter. The TID value represents the minutes elapsed since the 1st of January 1993. Since the incrementing of the 24-bit field means that the TID value will eventually roll over to zero, it is imperative that we upgrade our token system to STS 2 to ensure a seamless transition.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If you do not upgrade your meter, tokens will be rejected after the global deadline date: 24 November 2024.
• OLD Tokens must be entered into your Prepaid Meter BEFORE entering the upgrade tokens.
• OLD or UNUSED Tokens will NOT be refunded.

TID Key-Change Upgrade Process

1.  Enter OLD or UNUSED Tokens into your meter.
2. Open the STss TID Rollover Website on your phone, laptop or computer.
3. Enter your meter number into the STss TID Rollover Web site
*You can retrieve your meter number from your meter by following the steps on the STss TID Rollover Website.
4. Receive Upgrade Token 1 on the STss TID Rollover Website.
5. Enter Upgrade Token 1 into your prepaid meter and wait a few seconds for the meter to accept your token.
6. Receive Upgrade Token 2 on the STss TID Rollover Website.
7. Enter Upgrade Token 2 into your prepaid meter and wait a few seconds for the meter to accept your token.
8. Enter the Test Token into your meter.
